A Note to my Warriors

Updated: Jul 11

Now that my regular job is over for a while, I can focus on The Pink Ribbon Effect and its mission. The 2nd Annual Tee'd Off at Breast Cancer golf tournament is starting to come togther. I have 2 foursomes and 5 restaurants who have already given me gift cards for the raffle. When asked, these managers/owners do not think twice about handing over gift cards for this cause. It warms my heart when they hand them to me and add a personal note or story of their personal connection to Breast Cancer and sometimes other cancers as well. Because of the selfless businesses who donated items, I have been able to provide 75 women with my MammoTotes. I know they have been helpful and well received.

In addition to the MammoTotes, I will begin to create a Google Form application for women who will need a little help after their mastectomy, double mastectomy, and/or chemotherapy. This help will include paying for someone to clean the house, walk the dog, meal prep, and a few other choices. Since I am just starting out, I need to take baby steps with this idea; I need to make sure the process is working and truly helping those in need. I always say, "I can't imagine going through Breast Cancer alone," then I reflect on my own experience, and I remember, I was alone. It's truly an amazing experienec to be face to face with something so horrific and think you can't handle it, but then the transformation happens--the Fight or Flight effect takes place and your inner Warrior surfaces. It is so true.

Here is to all the Warriors who face this terrible disease, stare it in the face and say, "NOT TODAY CANCER; NOT TODAY, TOMORROW, EVER! I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU BRING ME DOWN!"
